My name is T.J.Lloyd, and I live with my husband and puppy on the Mid-North Coast of Australia. My children have both grown and started careers of their own, like mine, in writing. Some of my fondest memories, however, are any adventures we decided to take with them, one being to backpack around Southeast Asia for 5 weeks during the holiday period. My love of travelling and writing was something that stuck with me, and little would I know come back to see me later in my career. This brings me to where I am now. 

I’ve been an English teacher for most of my adult life. I love engaging children in reading and as a teacher and a mother, I know the struggles that parents and children have in investing in and enjoying reading. This passion prompted me to create the Arki Age series, as I saw a real need for junior chapter books that would excite young students and encourage them to read more. 

As I started to write Arki, the characters and the world of Amina took shape, becoming my second home. I hope you all love the characters as much as I do, and I’m excited that you will come on this journey with me.
